K2500 – Greater reach and driving comfort on four axles

Since its market launch, the Klaas K2500 has impressed with its impressive reach combined with great heights and state-of-the-art crane technology. Built on a 4-axle truck, the Klaas flagship achieves an almost circular load diagram.

In terms of crane technology, the K2500's triple telescopic folding jib is particularly noteworthy and unique on the market. The first three elements can be extended to a length of 18.75 m using the radio remote control, bringing the hook height to a total of 58 m. Telescoping works smoothly under loads of up to 1,000 kg or with an attached aerial work platform.

Thanks to a particularly strong joint between the main and auxiliary jibs, materials weighing up to 1,000 kg can be lifted effortlessly to a range of 24.5 m (at a simultaneous height of 34.5 m) – a clear advantage in confined erection situations or when the crane cannot rotate freely. With the ‘short’ folding jib, loads of up to 4.5 tonnes can be lifted and moved without redirection. When the jib is fully extended, the K2500 can move small loads over long distances – the lateral reach is an impressive 45 metres with a hook weight of 500 kg.

The long main mast of the K2500 consists of four 10-metre rails and is supported by two massive rocker cylinders. The high pivot point ensures that work can also be carried out at the rear of tall buildings without any problems – a major advantage, especially when used as an aerial work platform. Here, the K2500 achieves a working height of up to 53 metres.

In the first version, the Klaas flagship was built on a 26-tonne three-axle chassis. Now, Klaas is setting new standards in terms of range and driving comfort with a 32-tonne truck with four axles. Both versions are available as options. Both the 26-tonne and 32-tonne models score points with their compact dimensions and axle loads, which allow them to be used on public roads without special permits or escort vehicles.

The four axles of the new model, three of which are steered, ensure manoeuvrability and make the K2500 ideal for inner-city use. The innovative folding jib and the low support width of a maximum of seven metres also contribute significantly to this. Equipped with a hybrid package, the K2500 also enables quiet and emission-free operation in electric mode.

However, the biggest advantage of the four-axle K2500 is its exceptional reach: thanks to the high stability of the 32-tonne crane, it achieves an almost circular load chart. The outreach values remain almost constant over the entire 360° rotation and do not drop even in the area between the support beams. Compared to a 3-axle truck, the lateral reach is exceeded by almost five metres with a load of 1,000 kg.
