Klaas Cranes from the K2000 Series Now with Electric Drive

Last year, Klaas launched its first electric crane in the 18-tonne class, the K910 E. The pioneering battery technology, which offers high efficiency and long operating times, is now also available for the Klaas Riesen K2350 and K2500.

With its 400-volt battery technology, Klaas is raising the bar for battery-powered crane technology once again. At its heart is a 71 kW energy storage system that allows intensive crane or platform operation over three full working days without recharging. The drive concept is based on a powerful electric motor that enables multiple crane functions simultaneously, thus allowing for fast operation. A special feature is the electric hoist, which recovers energy when lowering the load and is therefore particularly efficient. The battery can be charged via a conventional 230-volt socket, and fast charging is possible via a high-voltage connection. Another advantage of the fully electric drive is the low maintenance and operating costs.

The two largest Klaas truck-mounted cranes in the 26-tonne class are now also available in a fully electric version. Klaas thus offers a unique e-concept for cranes in this truck class. While the K2350 scores with its enormous strength, the K2500 impresses with its hook height of 58 m and its pivot point at a height of 36 m. Both are equipped with a long, triple hydraulically telescopic folding jib, which is unique on the market. Materials weighing up to 750 kg can be moved hydraulically up to a folding jib length of 18.80 m. Even with loads of up to 1,000 kg or with an attached aerial work platform, telescoping works without any problems. When working with a ‘short’ folding jib, heavy weights of up to 4.5 tonnes can be lifted and moved without deflection. When this is extended, both models can handle small loads over long distances.
The Klaas giants can deliver their full range of performance and even greater reach thanks to their four-axle 32-tonne chassis. The decisive advantage here is that the reach remains almost constant throughout the entire 360° rotation.

On request, the K2350 is available with a newly developed double-rope operation. This allows it to lift loads of up to nine tonnes. Particularly practical: the change from single-rope to double-rope operation is automatic, tool-free and simply at the touch of a button on the remote control. As the second crane hook is already integrated into the mast, no additional assembly is required.

The models in the K2000 series are equipped with a solid H-support, whose horizontal support beams are double telescopic. The large overlap ensures high stability and rigidity. With a maximum support width of only 7.34 metres, the K2350 and K2500 are ideal for use on narrow inner-city construction sites.
