PV modules and roof slates in matching colors
Swisspearl Sunskin Roof Lap enables a flush roof design in which PV modules and fiber cement slates blend seamlessly in matching colors. Available in four shades, the system is ideal for demanding utility roofs and sensitive environments, combining efficiency, durability, and design.
“Swisspearl Sunskin Roof Lap” – now available in four colors
A modern utility roof can be much more than a purely technical solution. With the building-integrated solar roofing system Swisspearl Sunskin Roof Lap, an aesthetically refined roof surface is created that elegantly incorporates solar energy generation into the building envelope. Its smooth, nearly flush design eliminates the need for double installation of roof slates and PV modules, reducing material use—a benefit for visual appeal, resource efficiency, and sustainability.
The system is now available not only in black, but also in grey, brown, and terracotta red. This significantly reduces the visual presence of the photovoltaic installation—an important advantage for architecturally sensitive settings or projects that must meet heritage protection requirements.
Harmonious roof surfaces in a single, unified look
The system includes color-coordinated PV modules, a specially developed mounting system, and fiber cement infill slates for roof areas not covered by modules. The new module colors—Granite SM 661 (grey), Amber SM 762 (brown), and Coral SM 361 (terracotta red)—feature satin-finished, anti-reflective glass, while the black variant is available with either satin-finished or standard glass. Swisspearl has precisely matched the module colors to the fiber cement slates, enabling tone-on-tone roof designs in four colorways where all surfaces visually merge into one. Both modules and slates are UV-resistant; the PV modules additionally meet hail resistance class HW5. When identical formats are used, continuous horizontal and vertical joints create a calm, harmonious roof appearance.
To meet municipal requirements or heritage protection guidelines, Swisspearl also offers Sunskin Roof Lap in custom colors upon request.
Durable solar technology integrated into the building envelope
Swisspearl develops solar solutions with the aim of integrating energy generation permanently and aesthetically into the building envelope. The PV modules are as weather-resistant as fiber cement slates and can fully replace them in roof areas with good solar exposure, reducing material use and conserving resources. The minimally visible overlap is the reason behind the name “Lap.” Featuring a robust glass-glass construction with 3.2 mm tempered safety glass and monocrystalline TOPCon half-cells, the modules deliver high energy output. Roofs with inclinations between 15° and 60° can be used efficiently, achieving up to 900 kWh/kWp per year*, depending on conditions.
Long-term value through project-matched colors
A solar roof with well-matched color tones enhances the architectural quality of any building. With a 12-year product warranty and a 25-year performance warranty, Swisspearl clearly underscores the durability and long-term value of the Sunskin Roof Lap system.
