Precise Roof Surveying for Greater Planning Reliability

With the new drone surveying service, wienerberger now offers a highly precise, fast and practice‑oriented solution for roof measurements. Modern drone technology enables an accuracy of ±1 to a maximum of ±2 centimeters, setting new standards for planning, renovation, and documentation in the roofing industry. While conventional surveying methods – such as those based on aircraft data – can exhibit deviations of up to one meter, the drone service delivers precisely usable measurement data within just a few days. For roofing professionals, this means less on‑site effort, greater planning reliability, and a significantly more dependable basis for project calculations.

Benefits for Roofing Professionals

The measurement data can be integrated directly into common planning and CAD software without any additional effort. Thanks to the high precision of drone‑based surveying – even for complex roof geometries – roofing professionals receive a reliable basis for all project phases, from initial area calculations to detailed cost estimations. This reduces material waste, lowers costs, and enables more efficient preparation of the construction site. At the same time, much of the usual on‑site data collection becomes unnecessary, noticeably simplifying everyday work and providing substantial time savings, especially for hard‑to‑access or complex roof structures.

Practical Applications

The drone service is ideal for numerous applications in the daily work of roofing professionals. Damage documentation – for example after storms or due to age‑related wear – can be carried out quickly, safely, and precisely, which is particularly beneficial for insurance claims and offer calculations. Drone‑based surveying also supports the preparation of quotations, as accurate area measurements and detailed dimensional data provide a far more reliable foundation for project planning. The captured data is equally valuable for photovoltaic installations or energy‑efficient refurbishments, where precise measurements enable optimal coordination of planned measures. In addition, the drone service simplifies communication with clients: high‑quality aerial images and easy‑to‑understand visualizations make planning progress transparent and support informed decision‑making. Overall, this new surveying solution offers noticeable relief for roofing professionals — especially when dealing with difficult‑to‑access buildings or complex roof forms.
