Replacement school building on Rosastraße with timber construction
Flexible timber module construction with stonewool 🏫🪵 Bright classrooms, warm wood finishes and a well-designed energy supply: sustainably built and proven in everyday use – the modular building combines rapid implementation with real benefits for the school and community.
The temporary school on Rosastraße demonstrates how prefabricated timber modular construction saves time and resources. Sixty-five modules form twelve spacious classrooms on three floors. Light-flooded glazing and timber details create a bright, pleasant indoor climate.
Our non-combustible stonewool solutions were used to meet the requirements for fire protection, thermal insulation and healthy living: Fixrock 035 in the façade and Floorrock Heat CP3 in combination with Floorrock Therm for impact sound insulation and heating integration. With an additional photovoltaic system, heat pump and ventilation system, the result is a flexible, energy-efficient temporary building.
The project was awarded the title of ‘Exemplary Building in North Rhine-Westphalia 2025’ — a strong signal for sustainable, temporary architecture with stone wool from ROCKWOOL.
