SKB guardrail AluSmartEco: Self-supporting solution for safe roof terraces
With the AluSmartEco guardrail, SKB offers a self-supporting, load-bearing system for the safe design of flat roof terraces. Requiring no roof penetration, with a modular design and rated for loads of up to 1.0 kN/m, it is suitable for both new and existing buildings.
The SKB guardrail AluSmartEco was developed as a self-supporting system to safely convert flat roofs into additional living and usable space. The design allows roof areas to be used as extended living space without interfering with the existing building structure — perfect for green roofs or flat roof terraces.
The specially designed cantilever profiles with integrated load-bearers provide the necessary stability. The green roof, gravel, granulate, or concrete slabs then provide the required ballast. The roof terrace railing has been tested with horizontal loads of up to 1.0 kN/m.
The load-based installation means that the roof waterproofing remains completely intact. At the same time, AluSmartEco impresses with its lightweight yet robust construction and high resistance to weathering and corrosion.
A wide range of filling options, such as glass or sheet metal, as well as powder coating in RAL colors, allow for individual design and harmonious integration into the respective architecture.
