A seamless envelope – from façade to roof

LLarge-format roof panels are in demand: they save time and material and suit clean, low-joint building envelopes. At DACH+HOLZ, Swisspearl showed how the “Tectolit Lap” system is installed—using matching fibre-cement panels plus dedicated fastening and installation components.

One building, one language – roof and façade in harmony

In contemporary architecture, the roof is increasingly regarded as the “fifth façade”: even pitched roofs are intended to read as part of a coherent building envelope. Swisspearl supports this approach with large-format panels for roof and façade whose colours can be coordinated—creating a monolithic overall appearance.

Formats, colours, and efficient installation

With Tectolit Lap, rectangular panels in 2500 × 930 mm and 1520 × 930 mm can be installed on roofs with a pitch of 15° or more. As standard, the system is available in the Swisspearl Natura or Swisspearl Reflex colour lines; for roof and façade surfaces designed to match exactly, Swisspearl also manufactures roof panels in special colours. Thanks to installation with minimal overlap, Tectolit Lap saves around one third of the material compared with traditional double-lapped slate roofing—reducing weight, potentially lowering the building’s ecological footprint, and delivering tangible efficiency benefits for installers.

PV integration and safety – robust down to the last detail

Tectolit Lap complements photovoltaic modules from the building-integrated system “Swisspearl Sunskin Roof Lap”: when panels are selected in one of the five module colours, the PV modules and fibre-cement surfaces blend visually into a uniform, modern roof covering. To ensure secure panel retention, system components are manufactured to stringent Swiss quality standards; the “Tectolit Lap panel support 185”, made from durable TPE, functions as a sealing and cushioning element and stabilises the panel position. The system is certified in Switzerland as impact-resistant to hail, is storm- and fire-resistant, withstands high snow loads, and is classified as non-combustible (A2-s1, d0)—making Tectolit Lap suitable for buildings of any occupancy type.
