Cedral Alterna: Rethinking Small Format
At DACH+HOLZ 2026, Etex Germany Exteriors will present the newly named product line Cedral Alterna: durable, versatile fibre cement slates for roofs and façades – complemented from 2026 onwards by a new, architecturally focused colour series that opens up additional design possibilities.
At DACH+HOLZ 2026, Etex Germany Exteriors will present its newly structured range of small-format fibre cement slates under the name Cedral Alterna. With the new product structure, the company unifies all roofing and façade slates in this segment under a clear, internationally aligned product designation – a harmonisation that simplifies portfolio orientation while ensuring a coherent management of the Cedral brand.
Robust solution for roof and façade
Cedral Alterna stands for durable fibre cement slates distinguished by robustness, dimensional stability and high weather resistance. They are suitable for both new-build and renovation projects and cover a wide spectrum of architectural requirements. The slates are non-combustible, rot-resistant and low-maintenance – qualities that offer advantages both in day‑to‑day construction workflows and during long-term use on the building envelope. In modern ventilated façade systems, Cedral Alterna provides planning reliability with dependable moisture regulation and long-lasting performance.
New colour series from 2026
The extended colour palette will be presented for the first time at the trade fair. From 2026, four new shades will complement the range:
- Sand Beige
- Metal Grey
- Lava Grey
- Black
These tones respond to the growing demand for refined, architecturally precise colour nuances that are sought after in both residential and commercial construction. In addition, six proven colours – Blue Black, Dark Brown, Classic Red, Brick Red, Light Grey and Crystal White – will remain available. This enables up to six different roofing patterns and, overall, 15 façade patterns in a total of ten colours for individual design concepts.
Sustainability and fibre cement
Sustainability is a central focus for Cedral and the entire Etex organisation. Fibre cement is a long-lasting, low‑maintenance material composed of cement, cellulose and minerals, offering high durability with a resource-efficient material footprint. The company is currently working with Heidelberg Materials on establishing a closed-loop recycling system for fibre cement. Within the Cemloop XL project, fibre cement waste is to be processed into new raw materials, enabling future products with more than 20 percent recycled content and a roughly 15 percent lower CO₂ footprint.
Small format, wide possibilities
Combining a versatile colour spectrum, various installation patterns and the proven performance of fibre cement, Cedral Alterna offers a high-performance solution for distinctive building envelopes. From traditional aesthetics to modern accentuated surfaces, façades and roofs can be designed with great precision – always with Cedral’s trusted material quality, built for longevity and reliable weather resistance.
