D15A: A true all-rounder
The Erdi Shape and straight cutting D15A snips are considered something special among professional sheet metal snips. They are just as powerful as larger snips, fit into a ruler pocket and have reasonable prices.
Their design is unique. The double-lever Ideal Shape and straight cutting snips D15A are extremely compact at only 18 cm in length. Thanks to their short Handle and small cutter head, they can easily reach hard-to-reach places and handle small radii. Even though they are significantly smaller than other sheet metal snips in terms of overall length, they can easily cut through 1.0 mm thick material – whether copper, aluminium, galvanised or stainless steel sheet metal (always depending on the tensile strength of the sheet metal).
Because the bolt and stop are combined, they can be easily closed and locked with just one finger. The design highlight here is that The handle opening width is designed so that the full cutting length can be used thanks to the easy-to-handle dimensions.
Working with the Shape and straight cutting snips D15A is effortless. Like all other leverage snips, it consists of a cutter head and a handle. Both parts are hinged separately, creating compound leverage. The result: compared to snips without leverage, the D15A does the same job with around a quarter less effort.
These small and manoeuvrable snips also benefit from another advantage of the leverage: the adjustable commercially-available bolted joint, which ensures consistently high cutting quality over the long term.
