ENKE Provides Sustainable Sealing for the Old Lighthouse on Wangerooge
The "Old Lighthouse" on Wangerooge shines after a roof renovation with ENKOLAN 1K LF in "moss green." Peter Bochmann & Sohn GmbH tackled the challenging task of renewing the sealant under difficult conditions – the result is impressive and will last for many years.
Leading the Way
...is the "Old Lighthouse" on the North Sea island of Wangerooge, which no longer serves its original purpose, but still leads the way with its sealing. And, of course, ENKE is setting the direction here!
As the weather on the North Sea islands can sometimes be quite unpredictable, a sealant that is reliable over the long term is essential. Therefore, Peter Bochmann & Sohn GmbH from Melle was entrusted with the challenging task of renewing the roof sealant on the aged conical structure (the lower surrounding roof of the tower) while also creating an attractive roof area that blends in with the overall appearance.
Together with our field service technician, DDM Thomas Reuter, a solution-oriented concept was developed, and before long, the team got to work!
The last few beautiful September days were used to seal the conical roof area of over 110 m² with our ENKOLAN 1K LF in the special "moss green" color, which was specially flown in for the project just in time by island plane. Well-organized and under the guidance and supervision of our technician, the hardworking and highly skilled Bochmann workers were undeterred by the occasional strong "stiff breeze."
After just 4 days, an excellent and visually appealing result was presented, with all involved parties highly satisfied. The tower, the island, and the visitors will undoubtedly enjoy it for many years to come. (Was it perhaps a coincidence that the tower's new red-green color scheme resembles our ENKOLAN container? Who knows.)
One thing is for sure, and has been for 100 years:
ENKE on it, and it's good!
Proud of Leading Sealings:
