Side protection in accordance with DIN EN 13374 as an innovative solution for max. safety when working on flat roofs, without scaffolding the entire building.Attachment to the outside of the roof edge allows for unobstructed working. The aim is to make working on roofs easier, safer&more cost-efficient
The system
Simple and safe, even for demanding construction projects – this is the motto under which we, HAKOS, market our system as edge fall protection for flat roofs. The aim is to make working on roofs easier, safer, and more cost-efficient. The system is attached to the edge of the roof and allows you to work freely, from demolishing the old roof, including the supporting shell, to laying the new roof and installing the parapet covering. This eliminates the need for scaffolding around the entire building and prevents damage to sensitive facades, such as sandwich constructions. The HAKOS roof edge safety system is a (partially) temporary side protection system of classes A and B according to DIN EN 13374 and can be installed on roofs with a pitch of up to 30° by any craftsman.
Assembly
Most base elements can be reused the next time the system is installed without having to dismantle the parapet.
The story
HAKOS GmbH, based in Wermelskirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, was founded at the beginning of 2015 by master roofer Rudi Hachenberg.
As the former owner of a roofing company specializing in the construction and renovation of flat roofs and industrial facade cladding, Rudi Hachenberg spent years focusing on the safety of his employees and searching for new and practical safety solutions. In doing so, he considered safety as well as the economic perspective of the entrepreneur.
The result is the HAKOS roof edge safety system, an innovative, practical, and resource-saving product that significantly increases safety during roof work.
In January 2022, Simone Hachenberg joined the company as managing director and has been the sole owner of Hakos GmbH since September 2023. Rudi Hachenberg has retired from day-to-day business, but continues to support the company with his great ideas and developments.
