Description

We need a common roof.

Based on this insight, five roofing specialists from northern Germany met at a round table in 1970 to discuss forward-looking organizational models and structures. The result was the founding of the joint COoperation BedachungsArtikel (COBA), which would also be open to other interested roofing specialists in the future.

As COBA-Baustoffgesellschaft für Dach + Wand GmbH & Co. KG, this initially small cooperative enjoyed great popularity among specialist dealers in the roofing industry in its early years. Between 1970 and 1980, 19 dealers joined COBA. From 1990 onwards, there was a further jump in the number of shareholders to 36, not least due to the reunification of Germany.

The slight downward trend that accompanied the recession in the construction industry has been repeatedly stabilized through active outreach and acquisition of potential new partners. Today, COBA has almost 30 legally and economically independent shareholders and cooperation partners. All are medium-sized, mostly owner-managed companies specializing in the trade of building materials for roofs and facades as well as metal. They are present at around 60 locations throughout Germany: from Kiel to Munich, from the Ruhr area to Saxon Switzerland. And: COBA is a powerful cooperation exclusively for roofing specialists.

COBA was originally founded as a pure purchasing cooperative. Its goal was to achieve more favorable conditions on the market by bundling purchasing volumes. In the more than 50 years of its existence, it has developed into a renowned marketing and service network.

Despite their individuality and independence, COBA specialist dealers have one thing in common: absolute customer focus paired with roofing expertise that has grown over decades and been proven in practice.

This guarantees customers of COBA specialist retailers first-class service and expert advice. Your contact person is there for you when it comes to questions and solutions relating to roofs and facades. And they do so in a friendly manner, because this plays a particularly important role for us, not least thanks to our initiative “Orange ist sympathisch!”.
