Sustainability through Phonotherm® - the innovation in the construction sector
From a two-man operation to a "hidden champion" - BOSIG Baukunststoffe GmbH has not only preserved its roots, but has also developed into a major employer and an important player in the regional circular economy. The company is setting new standards in terms of sustainability.
BOSIG Baukunststoffe GmbH, headquartered in Elsterwerda, has won the prestigious Brandenburg Future Prize - the most important business award in the state of Brandenburg, which recognises our pioneering innovations and outstanding achievements in the areas of sustainability and progress.
This Future Prize is more than just an award. It is confirmation of our long-standing endeavours to pursue innovative paths and at the same time to treat our environment responsibly. For over 30 years, BOSIG Baukunststoffe GmbH has been a leading company in the development of innovative system solutions for industry, trade and construction. What once began as a two-man operation in a rural area has developed into a successful medium-sized company with regional significance, which not only creates jobs but also makes a significant contribution to promoting the circular economy.
The speciality of BOSIG Baukunststoffe GmbH lies not only in its many years of experience, but above all in its consistent focus on sustainability and environmental protection. The in-house development department is constantly driving forward new solutions in order to meet the ever-increasing demands of the industry.
An outstanding example of the sustainable innovative strength of BOSIG Baukunststoffe GmbH is the Phonotherm® panel. Phonotherm® offers an impressive range of possible applications. With a thermal conductivity value (λ) of 0.07–0.09 W/(mK), it is an excellent insulating construction material that can be used in a variety of ways, both indoor and outdoor. With sheet sizes of up to 3,600 mm length and up to 120 mm in thickness, there are no limits to creativity in the construction industry. In addition to the standard formats, BOSIG offers customised cuts that allow for almost unlimited shapes and geometries.
The material is made from waste materials from the polyurethane foam industry. Every year, the company recycles several thousand tons of these waste materials into new panels with an astonishing life cycle of more than 50 years. Thanks to this pioneering technology, the company not only prevents environmentally harmful disposal in waste incineration plants, but also actively contributes to environmental protection.
What also characterises BOSIG Baukunststoffe GmbH is the consistent implementation of the zero-waste principle. All production residues, from edge trimmings to sanding dust and faulty panels, are returned to the production process 100 percent. The company therefore produces without any waste products.
The award of the Brandenburg Future Prize is not only a recognition of the past and present of BOSIG Baukunststoffe GmbH, but also a confirmation of the company's forward-looking approach.
