Face-to-face trade fair with community feeling

From 15 to 18 February 2022, DACH+HOLZ International will take place live and in colour in Cologne. Numerous top industry representatives have already registered for the leading trade fair for carpenters, roofers and plumbers.

Meet the influencer community offline, admire new techniques at practical demonstrations, touch and try out tools, discover trends and innovations with all your senses: from 15 to 18 February 2022, DACH+HOLZ International will be the first point of contact for roofers, carpenters and plumbers of all generations. With its unique range of products, the trade fair covers the entire spectrum related to the building envelope. Well-known industry representatives such as Bauder, Binder, BMI, Festool, Prefa, Steico, Rockwool and Zedach have already confirmed their participation in the trade fair. "Exhibitors and the carpentry, roofing and plumbing trades, industry associations and we as organisers can all hardly wait to finally meet in person, exchange ideas, and experience the industry up close at DACH+HOLZ International 2022," said trade fair director Robert Schuster. "The yearning for real people and experiences is great. This cannot be satisfied digitally, which is why our top priority is to offer a face-to-face trade fair with community feeling for all participants, which captivates with the usual good atmosphere, and opens up unique opportunities for news, networking and business."

A trade fair with many aha! moments

The mixed planning concept of DACH+HOLZ International proved its worth in 2020, and will also ensure even more interactions in the Cologne exhibition halls: "There will be no strict topic allocation per hall, but instead we will continue to offer more synergy effects from the perspective of the trade visitor," said Robert Schuster. In addition, DACH+HOLZ International is increasingly relying on an experience-based approach in all halls. This includes new formats such as networking platforms for start-ups, business owners and multipliers, topic-related circuits that provide tangible input, and topic-specific forums. Attracting and retaining employees, making companies fit for the future through digitalisation, and promoting sustainability in construction are the main topics of DACH+HOLZ International 2022. Occupational health and safety at the construction site will also be one of the main topics of the trade fair: together with BG BAU (statutory construction insurance), the ZVDH (Central Association of the German Roofing Trade) and Holzbau Deutschland (Association of German Master Carpenters) will provide "fall-proof" tips in live demonstrations.

See Europe's best carpenters in action

Another industry highlight is the 2022 Timber Construction European Championship, which takes place parallel to DACH+HOLZ International in Hall 7, and is accessible to all trade fair visitors. During the four days of the trade fair, young carpenters from all over Europe will demonstrate their professional skills using wood as a building material. In a clearly defined time frame, the candidates must build demanding timber constructions, which are then evaluated by a European panel of experts. At the end, medals will be awarded to the best European teams and individuals. At the 2018 Timber Construction European Championship in Luxembourg, 24 participants from ten nations competed for the coveted medals. The national carpentry team from Holzbau Deutschland was able to assert itself as the best team in Europe. The German national team currently consists of seven carpenters – including Philipp Kaiser from Rot in Baden-Wuerttemberg, the World Cup candidate for WorldSkills 2022 in Shanghai. Philipp Kaiser already took first place at the German Championships for the Construction Trades in 2018.

DACH+HOLZ International 2022 will take place from 15 to 18 February at Cologne Exhibition Centre. The trade fair ensures that all necessary hygiene measures are in place for meeting safely, and reliably implements the latest requirements and recommendations for conducting trade fairs. Exhibitor statements

“We meet our most important target groups at DACH+HOLZ International. As regular exhibitors, we do not know of any other event where we can communicate with our existing and new customers in such a focused manner – both quantitatively and qualitatively. We are looking forward to the personal contact, which has been sorely missing recently." Wolfgang Holfelder, Marketing Communication, Paul Bauder GmbH & Co. KG

"For years, we have been present wherever our professional customers can be found. This is why DACH+HOLZ International is one of the most important trade fairs for us in 2022. In Cologne, we will be presenting our new products in the 18V battery range and for dust-free work. We are particularly looking forward to the direct 1:1 contact, and the personal feedback from the trade fair visitors, which is so important to us." Thorgen Juettner, Sales Manager Germany, Festool Deutschland GmbH

"Building with wood is and remains future-orientated for the construction industry, so we are looking forward to meeting up with the sector at DACH+HOLZ International in 2022 - for personal exchanges, existing and new contacts, and good discussions. Even though the world has changed a lot in recent months, virtual gatherings cannot replace meeting in person. For us, sustainable contact with our customers and partners is and will always remain important. At our stand in 2022, we will present the latest new and further developments of the STEICO construction system for building with wood." Martin Simbürger, Sales Manager, STEICO SE

"The pandemic has brought major challenges. Tackling them is currently very difficult for companies in the construction industry. Nevertheless, this should not completely obscure our view of the road ahead and the future of construction. Therefore, DEUTSCHE ROCKWOOL will support all initiatives which enable a successful trade fair to serve as a valuable information hub once again. DEUTSCHE ROCKWOOL continues to rely on DACH+HOLZ International to present innovations and to provide technical advice to one of the company's most important customer groups. We are convinced that this event will continue to play an important role for carpenters and roofers who want to make their companies and themselves fit for the future." Axel Stotz, Director Marketing Central Western Europe, DEUTSCHE ROCKWOOL GmbH & Co.KG

“ZEDACH has participated in DACH+HOLZ International right from the very beginning. Therefore, our participation is unquestioned, provided that the right framework conditions are in place. After this long difficult period, we are looking forward to a face-to-face event. We should not fall into the trap of believing that digital events can replace everything else. This is definitely not the case - we need personal interaction once in a while. That’s exactly what our leading trade fair, DACH+HOLZ International, is for. In Cologne, our companies will once again take up the offer of intensive consultation. Only together can we optimise the processes and thereby overcome the associated challenges." Andreas Hauf, Executive Board member of DEG Dach-Fassade-Holz eG and board member of ZEDACH eG

"For us, DACH+HOLZ International has always been one of the most important trade fairs when it comes to dialogue, news, exchanges and new contacts, in our most important target group markets. As we at PREFA don’t want to forego direct contact with our customers and interested parties, DACH+HOLZ International will remain an integral part of our plans." Tobias Götz, Managing Director, PREFA GmbH
